Akaroa Organics philosophy is to maximise the economic return from this property within the bounds of its natural organic framework. This philosophy is reflected in our approach to the organic development of the property.

We are returning up to 1/3 of the property to naturally occurring forest once found on Banks Peninsula.

The future development of the property for people-related activities will focus on the use and development of natural energy sources (wind and solar), waste water recycling and a triple bottom line approach to managing and reporting on such activities. As part of this process we will be measuring and offsetting our green house gas emissions from our transport activities.

It is our intention to have the lavender certified by Bio Gro New Zealand in the immediate future. Other products will follow suit as both demand for them and the production of the crops increases.
